We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team on a fixed-term basis to provide comprehensive musculoskeletal and medical care to our first team players, working collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of player health and performance. The successful candidate will have experience working with elite athletes and in a high-level sporting environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist the provision and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal and medical care for all First Team Professional Players.
2. Provide manual therapy service for all available and injured players, to support training, rehabilitation, or recovery needs.
3. Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) and liaise with players (and parents where necessary) to ensure complete medical services are provided to the elite standard.
4. Communicate the injury status and return to play strategy to the MDT and management staff, in line with the aligned vision of the Head of Medical Services / Head Physiotherapist.
5. Travel to provide physiotherapy match day support where required.
6. Be available for directed advice outside contact hours (within reason) and potentially attend relevant consultations.
7. Oversee the management of First Team player injuries/illness in consultation with the Head of Medical Services / Head Physiotherapist and the wider MDT.
8. Participate in the training and development of Sports Medicine team staff.
9. Maintain secure medical records and ensure the completion of all appropriate paperwork/electronic records.
10. Maintain own appropriate Continued Professional Development (CPD) and actively participate in that of those within the medical department and MDT.
11. Ensure the FA Anti-Doping and Whereabouts regulations are adhered to at all times.
12. Undertake any reasonable additional duties as required and agreed with the First Team Medical Staff.
13. Adhere to all Luton Town Football Club's Safeguarding Policies and Procedures.
MAIN JOB REQUIREMENTS AND PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Criteria:
1. Valid HCPC and CSP Registration.
2. Hold an enhanced criminal record check through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
3. Considerable experience working with elite athletes and at a similar level of sport.
4. Pitch side trauma management (AREA/ATMMIF) or equivalent.
5. Excellent interpersonal skills – e.g. communication, autonomous, team player.
Desirable Criteria:
1. Experience in leading and managing elite teams.
2. Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field.
Additional Information:
1. This is a Full-Time role.
2. This is a fixed-term position until the end of the 24/25 season.
3. Applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
4. The successful candidate will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS Check as part of the hiring process.
