GSL Education is seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support students in a specialist SEN school in EXMOUTH. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties. A UK driving licence and access to a car are essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with additional needs.
Assist in implementing individual learning plans and behaviour strategies.
Encourage student engagement, independence, and confidence in learning.
Adapt teaching resources to meet individual needs in collaboration with teachers and SENCOs.
Support students in classroom activities, social interactions, and daily routines.
Monitor and report student progress to ensure effective support strategies.
Manage behaviour using positive reinforcement techniques.
Requirements
Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) is desirable.
A strong understanding of Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, or physical disabilities.
Excellent communication skills to build positive relationships with students and staff.
A patient, adaptable, and compassionate approach to supporting young people.
The ability to work both independently and within a team.
A UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
A DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
