An opportunity has arisen for a diligent and well organised individual to join our team in the role of Health & Safety Administrator. The post holder will play a crucial role in supporting with health and safety initiatives throughout the organisation. Offering a commitment towards your professional development, this role would ideally suit an individual with a strong administration background, aspiring to build a career within Health & Safety.
Responsibilities may include:
* Supporting with and carrying out Health and Safety inductions for new starters and contractors; provide guidance for occupants of our company accommodation
* Liaising with internal and external training providers to coordinate and schedule safety related training for employees; ensuring refresher training is scheduled and carried out and the relevant training registers matrixes are updated and certification is issued
* Organising the translation of health and safety documentation and training materials where required
* Preparing and uploading safe systems of work
* Supporting with site and first aid equipment audits as and when required
* Managing our inspection software, creating relevant templates and training others on its use
* General administration responsibilities such as arranging meetings, taking minutes, updating information on noticeboards and ordering of stock and equipment. Provide information for auditors, Risk Stop, insurance reviews and labour providers when required.
* Collaborating with other teams to create/improve software solutions/Apps to support with the continuous improvement of the Health & Safety department
* Working cross-functionally with managers and colleagues to promote a positive health & safety culture
Our perfect Health & Safety Administrator would have/be:
* A strong administrative background with a passion for health and safety
* GCSE Maths and English (essential). NVQ 2 in Business Administration or equivalent (desirable)
* The willingness to learn and undertake IOSH Managing Safely First Aid at Work and Fire Warden training
* The ability to operate and thrive within a fast paced environment whilst working well under pressure; prioritises effectively to meet deadlines
* Well organised and efficient; proactive in approach with a focus on driving improvement
* Highly effective communicator; can engage with all levels of the business
* Excellent attention to detail; maintains confidentiality
* Empathy and understanding; committed to supporting others
* Leads by examples and holds others accountable
* Highly proficient in all MS Office packages
The hours you would work:
Monday to Friday, 8.00am-5.00pm (40 hours per week).
