We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Voice Clinical Lead Speech and Language Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust (CHFT). In this pivotal role, you will lead the delivery of expert voice therapy services, working with a diverse range of patients to assess, diagnose, and treat voice disorders. You will provide clinical leadership, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care is delivered. Main duties of the job
To act as the clinical lead for Voice in the adult Speech & Language Therapy department, advancing clinical practice in this area of work and taking a lead in evolving and embedding best practice into clinical practice.
To perform highly specialist assessment and treatment of clients with voice disorders. The post holder will be the lead Speech & Language Therapist for the management of voice services across Calderdale and Huddersfield and work closely with colleagues in the ENT team.
Educate and train Speech & Language Therapists and qualified and non-qualified healthcare / education staff including medical staff.

* Relevant Degree/Diploma

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE
Essential
* Recent extensive experience of working in voice at Band 6 level or above in the NHS
* Extensive experience in assessing, treating and evaluating care in voice disorders
* Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with people with complex difficulties
* Sound knowledge of current issues relating to voice disorders
* Teaching/Presentation skills
* Demonstrates reflective practice
* Ability to identify own learning needs and engage in self directed learning
* Attendance at relevant Clinical Excellence Networks and/or regional networks
* Ability to prioritise own caseload and assist others to do the same
* Ability to demonstrate clinical leadership
* Experience in planning, allocating and delegating tasks
* Extensive experience of direct treatment of voice disorder e.g. The Accent Method
* Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, NSFs/Local and National guidelines, and initiatives
* Experience in contributing to service improvements
* Sound knowledge of current issues relating to voice disorders
* Experience of liaison with other health professionals and multi-agency partnership working
* Experience participating in Joint ENT/Speech & Language Therapy voice clinics
