About the Team
We are a close and supportive team of Social Workers, Social Care Practitioners, Care Advisors, Senior Practitioners, and Service Managers. Our team members have manageable caseloads, and we recognize the importance of robust reflective supervision. You will be encouraged to share your ideas, exhibit best practices, and actively work towards improving the work that we do.
We work with adults over 18 with a variety of presenting needs, providing opportunities for a stimulating and interesting caseload. We are a short-term service providing support to service users in the community, working closely with the reablement service, Care Coordination Centre Triage Clinicians, and Community Services.
About the Role
As a Social Worker in the First Response Team, you will be:
* Undertaking assessments under the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005, involving direct work with individuals, families, and professionals.
Main Duties of the Job
About You
You will be responsible for Care Planning and providing short-term case management to adults in need of care and support. This includes:
* Attending Multi-Disciplinary meetings and completing initial Safeguarding enquiries.
You will be based primarily in Peasedown St John, Bath, but will work across the whole of Bath and North East Somerset region.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Degree or post-graduate qualification in Social Work or other equivalent professional qualification (CSS CQSW, Dip SW).
* Registered with Social Work England (or pending application with an understanding of the requirements of being a registered professional).
* Placement experience of statutory social work and working with vulnerable members of the community and service users.
* Knowledge of legislation, statutory guidance, local policy and procedures, SWE code of ethics, Professional Capabilities Framework, and multi-disciplinary practice.
* Some experience of managing multiple and competing priorities and demands within a caseload.
* Ability to analyze, evaluate, and respond to some complexity and risk.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with service users to undertake purposeful direct work.
Experience
* Ability to work in partnership with a range of professionals and agencies.
* Ability to communicate clearly, using empathy, understanding, and persuasion to appropriately encourage effective decision-making.
* Ability to work autonomously, prioritizing own work and managing own time effectively.
* To provide statutory social work services to people across Bath and North East Somerset who find themselves in vulnerable situations focusing on protection, prevention, and safeguarding, to improve outcomes and quality of life for individuals and families.
* This role is a newly qualified Social Worker, typically undertaking the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment, managing a protected and allocated caseload under the close supervision of a more experienced Social Worker.
