De La Salle College Malvern, a distinguished independent Catholic College for boys in Years 6 – 12, has a rich history since its founding in 1912. We are currently seeking a Teacher of French, commencing Term 2, 2025. This is a full-time ongoing role and can be combined with the Position of Leadership - Head of Languages role currently being advertised.
Remuneration will be based on experience, following the Teacher scale of the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022 (CEMEA).
We seek candidates with strong teamwork abilities, effective classroom management skills, and a dedicated commitment to the values of Catholic Education and contemporary pedagogies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ability to deliver Units 1 to 4 French curriculum.
* Creating a child-safe environment for students.
* Adhering to the school's Child Protection Policy and Child Safety Staff Code of Conduct.
* Collaborating with various stakeholders, such as Class/House Mentors, Education Support Team, Year Level/House Coordinators, School Psychologists, and Directors of Students, to monitor student progress and well-being.
* Providing timely marking and feedback to student work.
* Developing and delivering programs that leverage technology to enhance learning.
* Setting and maintaining high expectations for student performance standards.
* Complying with ongoing professional development requirements as per VIT guidelines.
* Identifying personal professional learning needs and participating in the annual Professional Learning Plan process.
* Actively engaging in internal and external professional development to enhance teaching practices.
* Utilizing a variety of teaching methods and resources to effectively engage students in their learning journey.
Skills/Experience Required:
* Bachelor of Education or relevant tertiary qualification.
* A strong commitment to Catholic education.
* Ability to build and maintain professional and caring relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
* Skills to create an engaging, educational, and challenging learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of all students.
* An eagerness to learn and grow in the field of education.
* Proficiency in implementing a differentiated curriculum and leveraging modern technology to support student learning.
Special Requirements:
At De La Salle College Malvern, the safety, well-being, and inclusion of all children are paramount. Therefore, the successful applicant must demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to providing a safe environment for children.
The successful applicant must hold a valid Victorian Institute of Teaching registration. While accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite.
