We offer a range of learning and development for all employees may you be clinical or non-clinical., You will be supporting the Head of Finance Systems & Costing, working with informatics, Care Group Finance teams and clinical leads to maintain and develop the Patient Level Information and Costing (PLICS) models used in the preparation of the National Cost Collection returns., + Responsible for developing and maintaining data transformation scripts using R (statistical programming language) as well as maintaining the existing cost models developed in the costing information system .
+ Plan, schedule and complete costing projects (including annual national returns) with a high degree of autonomy.
+ Progress the development of the Costing System within the Trust to meet the external costing requirements detailed in the NHS Costing Guidance.
+ Keep up to date with any new legislation or requirements issued by the Department of Health.
+ Produce detailed audit trails and reconciliation's for the costed financial and activity values at various control levels in line with costing guidance and Audit requirements.
+ Critically review significant changes in service costs and activity within the Trust between comparative years.
+ Produce benchmarking data, comparing the Trusts costs and activities against those published by other organisations.
A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Cost Accountant to join our Costing team on 12 month secondment or fixed-term contract., The successful candidate will meet the 'Essential Criteria' of the Job Description, you should be ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant with significant Costing experience, analytical and possess the aptitude for learning new IT skills .
The post holder will lead on the National Costing Collection and any other costing submissions on behalf of the Trust ensuring that high quality submissions are submitted in accordance with national deadlines and will support the production of Service Line Reporting (SLR).
