In partnership with Dementia UK, we are looking to add to our team of successful and highly-valued Admiral Nurses and are now looking to appoint two Admiral Nurses to our new team based in the South East area.
This role would require regular travel within the South East of England and it would benefit the candidate to be in close proximity to this area. As part of this role, there may be times where you are required to attend training and meetings within our hubs around the UK.
Admiral Nurses are specialist dementia nurses who work with families who are caring for a loved one living with dementia who have complex needs. As an Admiral Nurse, you will provide specialist one-to-one support, guidance, and practical solutions for families, alongside supporting best practice and providing role modelling.
We are looking for someone who has the compassion, focus, and desire to become real ambassadors for dementia care. Based at home with regular travel, you will provide a peripatetic service, visiting people in their homes and community settings.
The successful candidate will support the Lead Admiral Nurse in providing this service.
Requirements
You will be a RMN or RGN (with an accredited dementia qualification) and have had a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in dementia care. You will have experience working in a community setting providing person-centered dementia care and advocacy for this client group.
You will work with and support families and carers of people living with dementia, by using a range of interventions to help people live positively with the condition and develop skills to improve communication and maintain relationships.
Working collaboratively with other professionals, Admiral Nurses seek to improve the quality of life for people living with dementia and their carers.
