* Crew Member (Sundays) – £19.84 per hour (4-hour split shift: 7am-9am & 1:30pm-3:30pm)

Hours: This is a permanent position requiring work every Sunday at Riverside Market.
The successful applicant must also have flexibility to work additional shifts as a Back-Up Day Manager for our other weekly markets (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and Cardiff Met University Market (Tuesdays during term time) when needed.
Requirement: Must hold a C1 driving license to drive our market vans.

Now, we’re looking for a reliable and hardworking Crew Member to join our team at Riverside Market (Sundays) and act as a Back-Up Day Manager for our other weekly markets (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), as well as Cardiff Met University Market (Tuesdays during term time) when needed.
Person Specification
As a Crew Member, you'll be responsible for setting up and taking down the market infrastructure, ensuring smooth operations, and assisting traders and customers. This is a hands-on, physical role, perfect for someone who thrives outdoors and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
As a Back-Up Day Manager, you'll step in when needed to oversee market operations, manage stallholders, collect fees, and ensure everything runs smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
* Setting up and taking down market equipment (gazebos, tables, signage)
* Ensuring signage and promotional materials are displayed effectively
* Supporting stallholders and the public during market hours
* Driving market vans (C1 license required) to transport equipment
* Collecting stall fees and handling payments
* Supervising a Crew Member when covering the Day Manager role
* Writing post-market reports when acting as Day Manager
What We're Looking For
Experience
Previous experience setting up and taking down event or market infrastructure is highly desirable.

* Self-motivated – can work independently and take initiative
* Excellent people skills – able to liaise diplomatically with stallholders and the public
* Organized & reliable – punctual and committed to early morning starts in all weather conditions
* Manual handling skills – ability to lift and install heavy equipment, set up/take down gazebos, tables, and signage efficiently
* Comfortable using technology – able to process card payments and complete post-market reports
* Passion for sustainability – committed to supporting local food and reducing environmental impact
