We have a fantastic opportunity for an Earthworks Engineer/Geo Consultant, to join our Geo team in Coventry.
An exciting opportunity has emerged on our large Gateway South Coventry scheme where the successful candidate will be introduced to a one-of-a-kind geotechnical and environmental project. The role will be predominantly site-based with support from the Stoke and Northampton offices. This is an opportunity to be involved in a high-profile project and gain skills which will be easily transferable to other earthworks and contaminated land projects.
The role at Coventry Gateway will include:
* Site auditing, reporting, and management of geotechnical projects.
* Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of current best practices including (but not limited to): current UK geotechnical design documents such as Eurocode 7 and CD622.
* Liaising with Sub Contractors and clients assisting in the delivery of projects including (but not limited to): earthworks placement, slope stability and earthworks assessment, preparation of reports, site audits, and watching briefs.
* Data collection and analysis.
* Providing geotechnical advice to new and existing clients as the role develops.
* Understanding and advising on appropriate engineering options and/or solutions to issues on site and reporting these to the appropriate person.
* Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Hydrock’s system of work.
* Ensuring that all QA procedures are followed for the specific sections of a project that the Engineer is working on.
* Using company vehicles with due care and attention; including refueling, cleaning, and basic care of the vehicles as required.
The attributes we expect you to bring to the role and company:
* A BSc, BEng or higher qualification in a relevant subject (geology, civil engineering, geotechnics).
* 6 -12 months experience in an engineering consultancy role is preferable. However, a willingness to learn in lieu of experience is also highly valued.
* Understanding of related disciplines (civils and structures) will be required but can be learned on the job.
* Good understanding of Health and Safety requirements.
* A self-motivated team player with excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
* A proactive and independent thinker with an enthusiastic approach to work.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
