This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established manufacturer in Telford on an 8-month fixed term contract covering maternity leave until 29th October 2025. You will be working in a friendly office-based team, the main purpose of this role is to handle any customer requirements appertaining to the obtainment of the order – from the quote up until order entry. Giving the customer first-class service, offering assistance such as alternative products and promotional offers.
Responsibilities and duties will include, but not limited to:
* Maximise all sales opportunities by promoting the highest standard of customer care
* Receiving telephone, fax, e-mail and EDI orders
* Prompt deliverance of order acknowledgements with correct prices, part numbers and realistic delivery dates
* Maintain and develop customer records / profiles including recording information supplied by internal customers
* Receiving and recording any relevant customer feedback including assessing how our competitors are meeting our customer’s needs
* Assist with order inputting as and when required
* Attentive, prompt and courteous handling of all customer enquiries
* Handle enquiries relating to current prices, part numbers and stock availability
* Internal support for Field Sales team
* Raising and submitting Pro-forma invoices
* Providing and following up on customer quotations.
* Individual customer reports
* Dealing with general public enquiries to promote our brand and products
Skills and Experience:
* Previous experience in a high-volume Customer Service role, preferably within FMCG
* Excellent communication skills and be able to forge excellent working relationships with customers. Confident dealing with customers by telephone as well as email
* Ability to work with computerised Stock Control system
* Good level of education
* Flexible approach to work
* Previous use of EDI order receipts system would be desirable
