About the Role
As a Core Subject Tutor, you will deliver high-quality, tailored lessons that empower students to excel academically. You'll work closely with learners to address gaps in their understanding, boost their confidence, and prepare them for academic success. This role also provides the opportunity to work with students with additional learning needs, making a positive and lasting impact in their educational journey.
The role is highly flexible, allowing you to choose your availability for morning, afternoon, or evening sessions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide one-to-one tutoring in Maths, English, or Science, focused on GCSE-level content.
2. Assess and address students' individual learning needs, creating personalised lesson plans to ensure academic progress.
3. Deliver engaging and accessible lessons that inspire a love for learning.
4. Monitor and report on student progress, providing feedback to parents or guardians as necessary.
5. Adapt teaching strategies to support students with SEN, creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Requirements
1. Minimum 2 years of professional tutoring experience at GCSE level.
2. Right to work in the UK.
3. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undertake one).
4. Passion for education and a commitment to helping students achieve their potential.
Desired Qualities
1. PGCE in secondary Maths, English, or Science and/or QTS.
2. Proven experience working with students with SEN needs.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and parents.
4. A compassionate, patient approach to teaching, especially for students requiring additional support.
