Job Description
Transmission Cables Engineer required for a major offshore wind developer based in Scotland
Responsibilities.
1. Review and update Employer's Requirements (ERs), specifications, and associated schedules related to cable design, supply, manufacturing, installation and testing.
2. Ensure all cable system-related documentation aligns with project-specific needs and regulatory standards.
3. Provide design and technical support by clarifying requirements and assessing proposed solutions from suppliers.
4. Review and comment on detailed costing of all materials, production processes, and technical services provided by contractors.
5. Work closely with Cables Transport & Installation (T&I) teams to ensure interface requirements and cross-design approvals are managed efficiently within the project timeline.
6. Review, coordinate, and manage contractor cable system designs and installation methodologies to ensure compliance with Employer's Requirements.
7. Ensure all cable designs meet grid connection requirements and electrical performance standards for offshore wind transmission.
8. Plan, coordinate, and evaluate Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for inter-array and export cables + accessories to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
