Job overview
This is a full time position 37.5hrs per week, attracting enhancement payments for working out of hours in line with NHS terms and conditions.
The Security Department has received significant funding investment and is replacing all its existing CCTV cameras, cables, recording devices and technology. This is an opportunity to be involved from the start as this new security management system is introduced. Synectics Synergy is the new VMS, and Briefcam AI has been bought as part of the technology package. The service is centralising at the Northern General Hospital and therefore this is the base for this post. This is an opportunity to join a rapidly changing service and be part of that change.
These posts are on a fixed rotating roster and the post holders will be required to work all shifts on whichever day or time the rostered shift falls.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide a response service for alarms at the Trust.
2. Provide an out of hours repair response helpline for the estates department.
3. Produce access control/ID cards.
4. Process applications for access control.
5. Monitor CCTV including providing evidence as and when required.
6. Act professional at all times and adhere to the Trust PROUD values.

Person specification
Qualifications
* GCSE grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications/experience)
* Membership of relevant professional association
* A recognised security qualification e.g SIA CCTV Licence
Experience
* Experience in a similar environment.
* Knowledge of procedures for use of CCTV, Intruder Alarms and Access Control.
* Ability to deal with the public in a polite and courteous manner.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety at Work.
* Fire precautions & regulations
* Knowledge of CCTV systems
* Knowledge, familiarity with Data Protection Act
* Able to communicate effectively with the public and a wide range of staff groups.
* Ability to use IT equipment, including Microsoft packages
* Ability to use a variety of technical equipment. Familiar with the use of personal radio equipment.
