We have a vacancy for an apprentice assembly operative, to work in our busy factory, that exports to over 150 countries worldwide.
During this apprenticeship, you will learn to become a General Operative, with a mechanical bias, to work as part of a team.
You will:
* Gain the ability to work with a variety of engineering tools (Drill, Grinder & Gas Shrink Wrapping Tool to name a few)
* Ensure route cards are processed with work conducted and documented
* Coordinate with Factory managers to communicate progress
* Alert the Quality Operative / QHSE Manager of ongoing problems
* Encourage good practices and cleanliness of the factory
* Physically fit and able to work at heights
* Able to understand technical drawings
The training you will be getting
Engineering technician Level 3.
Together with invaluable commercial and practical experience, you’ll gain several academic and vocational qualifications throughout your time with us, which are fully paid for, including:
* Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence) – off-the-job full-time at Make UK in Aston, Birmingham in year 1
* Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) Years 3 & 4 on-the-job training
* Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge) Years 2 & 3 on day release to Make UK
* In house training in line with your requirements
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
* Initially a role in the factory, with a view to progressing into a service engineer (maintenance) which includes travel all over the world
* You may also be given the opportunity to continue your studies into a Level 4 Mechatronics Apprenticeship and beyond. This opportunity will grow as much as you want it to
