An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Gastroenterology team for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to assist in the delivery of high-quality Hepatology services throughout the Trust. Working alongside other clinical colleagues the post holder will provide expert care, treatment and support for this patient group. The post holder will contribute to advancing the body of knowledge through education, research and audit as well as developing practice. They will play a key role within the multidisciplinary team in order to ensure a seamless, coordinated and timely approach to care.
The post holder will be responsible for inpatient and out-patient assessment, education and clinical management for patients' with Liver disease and the monitoring of HCC under the care of Kingston Hospital and in line with national standards. The role is suitable for an experienced clinical Nurse, ideally with relevant experience in Hepatology/Gastroenterology, who will be working as part a Gastroenterology Team and working directly with the Hepatology Consultants. It provides the opportunity to further develop communication, teaching and clinical skills within the specialty. The post holder will be expected to develop Nurse Led clinics, Fibroscan services, create a data base for drug monitoring purposes, give advice and implement patient care in an area which requires specific clinical knowledge, skills and experience.
