Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking for an opportunity to utilise and develop your clinical skills & leadership abilities? If so, our static, fixed term Band 6 Occupational Therapy position may be perfect for you.
All of our specialist Occupational Therapists receive supervision & mentorship from a member of our highly specialist team. They will offer direction in terms of clinical development and leadership development, whilst you continue to learn & utilise the holistic patient centred therapy skills core to the Occupational Therapy profession.
The successful applicant must have NHS experience.
1 part-time fixed term of approximately 10 months until 31-8-2025 (0.8 WTE) position is available at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford. The successful candidate will be expected to work 30 hours across a 7 day pattern. This role would be delivered over 4 days of 7.5 hours per day.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work alongside Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Therapy Support workers and nursing staff to achieve patient's rehabilitation and discharge goals within the acute medical setting.
* To assess, diagnose/interpret and manage own specialist caseload of complex patientsas an autonomous practitioner in accordance with Professional Code of Conduct andHealth and Care Professions Council Regulations.
* To have developed, through experience and postgraduate training, the specialist knowledge and clinical skills required for the post.
* The post holder will work in close co-operation with colleagues within all Care Groups todeliver a cohesive service that is user led ensuring a consistently high standard of patient care, optimal patient flow and safe timely discharge.
* To work closely with team co-ordinators and senior therapists to ensure a robust structure of training, supervision and appraisal is delivered to all members within theteam.
* To work closely with team co-ordinators and senior therapists to ensure the delivery ofan efficient operational service.
* To act as a source of Specialist advice and support within the Therapy Centre and across the Trust and the wider health economy.
* To have highly effective communication skills and demonstrate these on a continualbasis with patients, carers, colleagues and the wider Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT).
* To undertake audit as a part of the role.

Person Specification
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
* As required for entry into University for professional training
* Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
* Registered with Health and Care Professions Council
* Evidence of specialist clinical training in relevant areas
* Evidence of broad range of pre and post qualication experience
* Evidence of NHS experience in relevant area of clinical Practice
* Evidence of teaching/ student experience
* Experience in audit and research
SKILLS
* Evidence of leadership ability
* Organisation, planning, prioritisation and decision making skills
* IT Skills relevant to the role
