The Senior Counsel (Europe) will provide legal support from InterSystems’ UK office for the European region.
Job Responsibilities:
* Work out of the Windsor, UK office
* Responsible for a variety of legal issues effecting InterSystems in the region, as assigned, including:
o Software licenses, solution agreements and other customer contracts
o Non-disclosure agreements
o Teaming agreements
o Consulting agreements with independent contractors and associated statements of work
o Vendor compliance with InterSystems’ policies
o Employment matters
o Real estate matters
o Corporate maintenance in local jurisdictions
o Regulatory compliance
* Help manage large, government procurements of healthcare technology through the lifecycle of a project, including contract changes and amendments
* Collaborate with the legal team in the region and worldwide
* Work with and manage outside counsel
* Ensure compliance with internal processes regarding pricing, approval, and other requirements
* Assist in ensuring compliance with external requirements, statutes and standards related to healthcare information technology, data protection, and other areas
* Assist in completing, filing, and sourcing ancillary documents for transactions, such as insurance certificates, tax certifications, and corporate registrations
* Perform special projects as requested
Job Qualifications:
* Qualified legal practitioner with a current practicing certificate
* At least 5-8 years of relevant legal experience required
* Experience with large government procurements, preferably in healthcare
* Software or other high-tech experience required, healthcare experience a plus
* Proven ability to effectively manage outside counsel
* Experience working on legal projects from a variety of regions.
* Experience with contracts and legal issues in Germany and France a plus.
Required Skills:
* Sound decision making skills, business acumen, and legal judgment
* Ability to vary communication style to effectively communicate locally and with non-native English speakers
* Ability to triage multiple demands and shifting priorities
* Ability to work remotely and independently from the head office and legal department in the dynamic, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment of a privately-held company.
* Ability to collaborate with local legal and business teams
* Inform stakeholders about work progress and outcomes
* Ability to develop creative and non-traditional solutions
* Understand how legal issues impact the "big picture"
* Multiple language competencies are a plus
Travel within the region will be required and, occasionally, outside the region
