As a Software Development Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary where you will have the opportunity to play a key role in supporting the Royal Navy's applications to ensure timely software deliveries. Day-to-day, you'll lead and manage our software development team and help us continue to grow our business and contribute to our goal.
Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage one of the organisation's Software Development teams focused on creating and maintaining software applications using Microsoft Technologies and Oracle backend systems.
* Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle, from initial planning, requirement analysis, estimation, and design to development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
* Collaborate and partner with cross-functional teams including project managers, architects, test, business analysts, infrastructure, and service team to deliver software solutions on time, within scope and budget.
* Manage the demands for bug fixing, system enhancements including continuous application development and changes resulting from technology refresh.
* Ensure adherence to best practices in software development, including Agile methodologies and ensure high-quality software solutions that meet business requirements.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.
Essential Experience:
* Significant experience in software development, with a strong focus on Microsoft Technologies.
* Significant experience in .NET, C#, API development and integration, SQL servers.
* Experience with Agile development methodology.
* Experience working as a Senior or Principal Software Engineer with proven experience of setting the software development strategies.

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
