Main duties of the job We have two 12 month secondments for the role of Learning Disability Senior Improvement Manager. This role will involve leading on specific and targeted improvement projects, as part of the Welsh Government's Learning Disability Strategic Action Plan and Delivery 2022 to 2026. Building upon on the successful programme to date, the team has a renewed remit for the next 12 months with an ambitious programme of work aimed at accelerating improvements in health outcomes for people with a learning disability. Areas of focus include Quality Statements, Health Checks and Reducing Restrictive Practice. This highly visible role will contribute to the wider work of the well-established learning disability team within Improvement Cymru. We are particularly interested in hearing from those with a background in quality improvement, patient safety, project management and learning disability service delivery. The post will involve extensive cross boundary working across the health boards, local authorities, voluntary and independent sectors, seeking to break down organisational boundaries to improve learning disability services nationally. Candidates should have knowledge of improvement methodologies and an understanding of the inequalities faced by people with a learning disability. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
