It is an operational support and maintenance base, within the Navy Command TLB and comprises both Faslane and Coulport sites. HMNB Clydes primary purpose is to provide engineering and logistical support to the Royal Navy in maintaining Continuous at Sea Deterrent (CASD). This is achieved by ensuring at least one Vanguard Class submarine is on patrol at sea every day of the year. RNAD Coulport is responsible for the storage, processing, maintenance and issue of the Trident Weapon System and the ammunitioning of all submarine-embarked tactical weapons. These posts form part of the Superintendent Faslane Site's team at HMNB Clyde. The posts act as the lead MoD sponsor for docking and engineering capability to ensure the required level of service is delivered to all capability users across Faslane waterfront and the wider base. The posts directly interface with the MoD and Industrial Partners in the delivery of capability ensuring requirements are met and delivered through the 10 Yr Infrastructure Plan and through life asset management. The posts act as the subject matter expert for their respective areas providing advice and guidance in the operation and limitations of the facilities and utilities. Acting as the intelligent customer for the delivery of operations delivered through our Industry Partner Maintenance Management Organisation. The posts will lead and develop their respective teams. Job description The primary purpose of the Assistant Head Capability (AHC) is, on behalf of the HMNB (HM Naval Base) Clyde Faslane Site Operator (Superintendent Faslane Site (SFS)) and the Authorisee for the leadership, oversight and management of outputs in support of vessel operations and the safe development and introduction of new waterfront focused capabilities. The AHC's deliver Day to Day control of non-nuclear, NP, NW, and WiH Authorised Activities within HMNB Clyde Faslane Site to ensure that the risk from the activities is managed such that it is reduced As Low as Reasonably Practicable (ALARP). Person specification To be considered for this role you will have the following essential attributes: Knowledge and understanding of either Submarine docking and the maintenance and operation of docking facilities HV and LV distribution systems and the maintenance and operations of facilities delivering high integrity mechanical and electrical services. Experience of building and leading a hard-working team to deliver ambitious outcomes through collaboration with others; Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with a wide range of partners at all levels of business; Experience of operational delivery in a high hazard, high tempo environment; Must have strong and demonstrable organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision and a proven history of delivering high quality outcomes to time and cost. Desirable Membership: Relevant engineering or science Institute membership and registration at a minimum of Incorporated level achieved or commitment to achieving registration declared.
