Administration In the absence of the Head of MHA Administration and Senior MHA Administrator, work unsupervised, seeking advice from colleagues on other sites when necessary. Ability to work flexibly across and drive to different sites, if required to provide cross cover and support the Head and Deputy Head of MHA Administration Services. Record all changes in MHA status on RiO and in the register and confirm them that in writing to the patient and nearest relative, if appropriate. Update spreadsheets recording Tribunals, Mental Health Act Managers hearings and second opinion appointed doctor (SOAD) requests. Ensure that MHA information on RiO is correct and up-to-date. Contribute to any discussions and projects to update/replace RiO, so that an updated/new system is fully compliant with the MHA. When a fresh detention starts, either create a new MHA file or, if the patient has a MHA history, update an existing one. New detentions Arrange timely administrative scrutiny of all approved mental health practitioner (AMHP) applications for detention and supporting medical recommendations, identifying any errors or defects which could invalidate the detention, and arrange for authors to rectify the document in line within the 14-day period stipulated by section 15. Arrange for an appropriate Consultant Psychiatrist to complete a medical scrutiny of all medical recommendations, so that authors rectify the document in line within the 14-day period stipulated by section 15. Update section 117 eligibility to free aftercare for qualifying sections on RiO.
