An engaging Communities Projects Officer with a focus on helping us Listen to Lancashire to work in Public Health Strategic Operations at Lancashire County Council.
We are seeking an experienced community engagement professional to join us on our journey towards a better future for our communities. The main aspect of this role is supporting work to bring our Listening to Lancashire Principles to life. You will play an important part in tackling health inequalities and improving the well-being of Lancashire's population with your determination and commitment to achieve the best possible outcomes, particularly for people living in minoritised communities or those who struggle to get their voices heard. You will be collaborating with colleagues across Public Health to ensure that our services are listening and engaging in the most effective ways to ensure the voices within our communities have been heard when we undertake commissioning and service design and redesign.
What We Are Looking For…
1. Passion: You will be passionate about making a difference and want the best for the rich variety of cultures and populations within Lancashire. We want you to captivate your audience and get the right message across by harnessing different communication methods and behaviours. Your approachable and friendly demeanour will contribute towards success and you'll engage members of the public with your confident stature.
2. Resilience: Your self-motivation and drive will allow you to keep your focus whilst working across Lancashire. You will be working within a vast range of different communities and will need to tailor your approach to meet their requirements. We want you to consider the individual demographics and their specific needs, shaping and moulding a process that works for everyone. Results will not come straight away, but your tenacity and positive approach will provide the desired outcomes alongside your substantial work ethic. You should have knowledge about the Public Health Annual Report and keep up to date with key changes.
3. Public Service: You will feel immense job satisfaction in this role and be able to see the culmination of your hard work. By achieving desired targets, you will make a huge difference to the members of the public, giving them an improved and sustainable future.
Why join us…
Benefits: There's fabulous flexibility and the opportunity to create the work-life balance you'll love with up to 31 days annual leave plus bank holidays, 2 additional days at Christmas, and then an additional 20 days that can be purchased too. We have a generous public sector pension with shared AVC's available, and a benefits package which includes everything from dog care to day care, holidays at home or abroad, long service awards, Medicash, support groups, cycle to work schemes, and eye tests plus much more.
Development: You'll get support and development along the journey. There will be time for supportive reflection and supervision for yourself, opportunities for personal growth and development, multidisciplinary initiatives, mentoring, and the opportunity to make a difference, feel valued, and achieve the job satisfaction you've always wanted plus all the benefits of working with Lancashire County Council.
Inclusivity: We embrace diversity and that includes personal and family requirements. We appreciate that you'll want to be working from home when you can, and your hours may vary or change. For us, delivering successful outcomes is more important than watching the clock.
