Job Title: Engineering Manager – Electrical (Control & Instrumentation)
Location: Barrow-in-Furness, Filton, or Frimley – (2 days minimum on site per fortnight.) We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: Negotiable depending on skills and experience.
What you’ll be doing:
* Leading a team of Engineers, responsible for the development of a platform manoeuvring solution throughout the full product lifecycle.
* Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, responsible for delivering the engineering design for a vehicle control system utilizing agile toolsets.
* Developing and maintaining the competency and skills of the team with varying levels of expertise and experience.
* Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to foster collaborative working relationships.
* Engaging with suppliers and managing engineering requirements, deliverables, and acceptance of work leading to a design description of a future vehicle control system.
* Engagement with legacy stakeholders in the development of a technical solution from a known baseline design.
Your Skills and Experience:
* Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Control or Instrumentation Engineering.
* Experience of architecting electronic systems such as vehicle control systems, navigational control systems, etc.
* Proven track record of leading and inspiring engineering teams across the product lifecycle.
* Knowledge of applying safety and security standards to engineering products.
* In-depth knowledge of design and deployment of complex control solutions, manoeuvring architectures, or vehicle design.

The Submarine Solutions Team:
You will help define and shape the design of the Royal Navy’s next generation attack class submarine and implement novel internal communications technology while collaborating with colleagues within the Integrated Combat Systems business, wider stakeholders, suppliers, and the Royal Navy. Relocation support packages are available across all Submarines roles, subject to eligibility criteria.
