Mechanical Design Engineer

Our client is now seeking a passionate Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team and play a key role in developing and launching cutting-edge bearing products.
Requirements:
* Proficiency in 3D CAD software; SolidWorks is preferred, but not essential.
* Knowledge of mechanical design for rotating equipment and production technologies (e.g., turning, milling, grinding, precision metrology) is advantageous.
* Familiarity with analytical tools, statistical methods, and problem-solving techniques (e.g., Six Sigma, 8D).
* Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
* Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
* Solid understanding of manufacturing principles and processes.
* Experience with soft and hard machining processes is beneficial.
* Strong mathematical abilities; familiarity with MathCAD is a plus.

Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure new bearings are manufacturable.
* Develop and implement efficient production processes for new bearings.
* Create manufacturing plans, including bills of materials and production schedules.
* Proactively identify and mitigate potential manufacturing risks.
* Design and implement robust gauging solutions.
* Support the production launch and ramp-up of new bearings.
* Continuously improve manufacturing processes to optimize quality and efficiency.
* Work within the Product Design team to realize new bearings from concept designs to detailed definitions for successful manufacture and assembly.
* Utilize mathematical and CAD modelling to develop bespoke solutions tailored to specific designs.
* Consider the impact of production steps, gauging, and processes on the final product outcome.
* Project manage and create new designs, ensuring clear communication with key stakeholders.
* Support the validation and verification of designs and associated documentation.
* Contribute to the dissemination of departmental knowledge and skill sharing.
