Our client is now seeking a passionate Production Design Engineer to join their team and play a key role in developing and launching cutting-edge bearing products. Mechanical Design Engineer Requirements: Proficiency in 3D CAD software; SolidWorks is preferred, but not essential. Knowledge of mechanical design for rotating equipment and production technologies (e.g., turning, milling, grinding, precision metrology) is advantageous. Familiarity with analytical tools, statistical methods, and problem-solving techniques (e.g., Six Sigma, 8D). Bachelors degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related field. Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) processes. Solid understanding of manufacturing principles and processes. Experience with soft and hard machining processes is beneficial. Strong mathematical abilities; familiarity with MathCAD is a plus. Mechanical Design Engineer Responsibilities: Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure new bearings are manufacturable. Develop and implement efficient production processes for new bearings. Create manufacturing plans, including bills of materials and production schedules. Proactively identify and mitigate potential manufacturing risks. Design and implement robust gauging solutions. Support the production launch and ramp-up of new bearings. Continuously improve manufacturing processes to optimize quality and efficiency. Work within the Product Design team to realize new bearings from concept designs to detailed definitions for successful manufacture and assembly. Utilize mathematical and CAD modelling to develop bespoke solutions tailored to specific designs. Consider the impact of production steps, gauging, and processes on the final product outcome. Project manage and create new designs, ensuring clear communication with key stakeholders. Support the validation and verification of designs and associated documentation. Contribute to the dissemination of departmental knowledge and skill sharing.
