Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Animal Technician to join our mission-oriented, friendly, and hardworking team. The ideal candidate will be actively involved in the daily care and maintenance of our mice cohorts and in supporting our in vivo pipeline. The candidate will be passionate about animal care and the impact of in vivo investigation on the R&D of our platform and therapeutic candidates. He/she must hold a BSc or an Institute of Animal Technology Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification and a Home Office personal licence with Home Office modules A-C. Key Responsibilities: Maintain our animal cohorts, including routine welfare, monitor diet and environmental conditions per protocols and record clinical signs. Execute exploratory preclinical in vivo studies, including proof-of-principle efficacy and safety assessments, translational and biomarker studies, MoA and early PK/PD. Collaborate closely with colleagues in peer functional departments, including Discovery, RNA Technology, Data Sciences, and Chemistry. Support internal staff in the execution of in vitro, organoid, and ex vivo studies. Communicate project developments and directions promptly and effectively in internal and external meetings. Maintain knowledge of relevant literature and preclinical techniques. Comply with all Home Office regulations. Qualifications: BSc, Institute of Animal Technology Level 2 or equivalent qualification Home Office personal licence with Home Office modules A-C At least one year of hands-on in vivo experimentation experience in academic or industry settings Passion for animal care Attention to details and meticulous record-keeping Previous experience working in a laboratory setting with animals, conducting regulated and non-regulated procedures Willingness to work unconventional hours to accommodate studies’ requirements Strong teamwork skills Previous experience in metabolic diseases is an advantage Desirable Skills: Proven track record of executing in vivo studies, including diverse routes of administration (IV, IP, IM and SC), sample collection (including cardiac perfusion) and tissue processing Monitoring techniques (IVIS, blood/urine/organ collection) Experience using LIMS Personal Attributes: Effective communication and interpersonal skills Capacity to innovate and integrate new scientific and technological advancements into research practices
