The Safety Risk Management & Assurance Officer is responsible for the delivery of high-quality safety investigations, ensuring effective hazard identification and risk management processes across airline operations and engineering activities to contribute to the identification of operational risk and improving safety.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role are:
Triage reports within the hazard and occurrence reporting system, ensuring all safety and security related reports and incidents are followed up, investigated and closed in accordance with company procedure.
Monitor action closure process associated with hazard and occurrence reports, ensuring effective safety outcomes and identification of issues for subsequent safety assurance review
Maintain the occurrence reporting database ensuring that MORs are submitted and closed within required timeframes
Oversee the development and maintenance of hazard/risk registers, risk assessments and management of change tasks, monitoring the effectiveness of risk mitigations
Support Nominated Persons and Managers to ensure that hazard identification, risk management and safety assurance tasks are completed in accordance with company procedures
Lead and support independent safety investigations including root cause analysis, suggest appropriate corrective actions and recommendations in accordance with company procedure. Present investigation findings at the appropriate Safety Action Group
Contribute to Safety Action Groups, preparing necessary reports to assist with the identification of operational risk
Monitor agreed corrective/preventive actions and their effective implementation
Monitor and report on safety performance indicators
Develop and maintain documentation, manuals and records related to risk management and safety assurance
Develop and deliver of training to company personnel on the SMS
Contribute to the planning and delivery of safety publications, promotional materials and campaigns / initiatives
Promote the safety management system throughout the company.
Provide advice and support to other internal departments to help them fulfil their safety responsibilities
Develop and conduct Departmental Compliance Checks
Maintain appropriate liaison with customer airlines, regulatory authorities, industry bodies and forums
Represent the company on safety matters at external meetings & conferences
On call rotation of the safety hot line
Any other tasks as directed by Line Management
Requirements
? Qualifications
Graduate in an aviation related discipline.
Completed a recognised Safety Management in Aviation course.
Completed a recognised Safety Investigation course.
Experience
A minimum of three years experience in a similar role including practical experience in incident / accident investigation
A minimum of five years experience in an airline or air transport environment
Experience with management system software such as Centrik, IQSMS, SafetyNet
Knowledge
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of UK CAA and EASA regulatory requirements for aviation management systems
Solid understanding of safety management system and human factors principles.
Strong knowledge of airline operations
Skills
Ability to analyse data, identify trends and determine root causes of incidents / accidents
Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to produce high quality reports
Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative team player
Proven ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership
Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
Ability to demonstrate a structured approach to managing your workload, work well under pressure and have high attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Office 365 applications

The position is permanent, full time and the hours of work will be Monday-Friday 9:00am to 5:30pm however a degree of flexibility will be expected due to the nature of the job.
