Staff Nurse - Neath Port Talbot Acute Clinical Team
Neath Port Talbot Acute Clinical Team is a dynamic Nurse Practitioner Led Service supported by Consultant Geriatricians.
The Service covers a vast geographical area. In order to fulfill this role, the successful applicant must have the ability to travel between sites in a timely manner.
Main Duties of the Job
* Clerking and initial assessment of patients including clinical examination.
* Administration of IV/SC fluids, IV antibiotics, and other prescribed drugs e.g. IV furosemide.
* Taking part in board rounds and handovers.
* Liaise with teams in the hospital - A and E, MAU, OPAU to discuss suitable patients that can be discharged into the community. All Registrants within ACT are accountable for ensuring that at all times the patients' best interests are promoted and protected. Decisions and actions are in accordance with the NMC Professional Code of Conduct.
* Each member of the service has a responsibility to ensure that on each contact with a patient or on receipt of any information concerning the client, they risk assess the situation, including the needs of the patient and analysis of the degree of risk.

Qualifications and/or Knowledge
* UK NMC Registration.
* Evidence of Post Registration Education.
Abilities
* Ability to travel within geographical area.
* Experience of working within the Community.
Experience
* Experience of Nursing acutely unwell Adults.
* Ability to administer Intravenous Therapy.
* Phlebotomy and cannulation skills.

£30,420 to £37,030 a year per annum pro rata.
