An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Pharmacy Technician based at University Hospital Ayr.
What you will do:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced pharmacy technician to join our senior pharmacy team and participate in the provision of a high quality pharmaceutical service within NHS Ayrshire & Arran. Pharmacy Services in NHS Ayrshire & Arran are undergoing a period of transformational change- and this role is vital to help shape that.
The successful candidate will manage some of technical aspects of the pharmacy service at University Hospital Ayr, including staff, resources, activity and information and will provide professional leadership to all pharmacy technicians and support workers at their base hospital.
The post-holder will have operational responsibility for provision of a quality service in dispensing services, the distribution of medicines and will work alongside the senior team to ensure the very best outcomes for our patients.
Applicants should have experience of managing and leading teams and be able to demonstrate an advanced level of pharmacy knowledge, skills and judgement.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
In depth, specialist knowledge across a range of technical procedures which are underpinned by theoretical knowledge equivalent to post graduate diploma level with associated relevant experience.
Required to demonstrate a high level of understanding of all aspects of pharmacy practice in the absence of a formal qualification.

Hours:
The successful candidate will participate in weekend, public holiday and extended hours rotas as required and will be based at University Hospital Ayr.
37 hours per week.
Driving Licence/Car Ownership:
A car licence/car ownership is essential to this role.
