We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Band 6 MRI Radiographer to join our dynamic MRI team. This is an excellent job opportunity for an individual who wishes to enhance their skills in a busy department. It is essential that you are a good communicator and team player, and that you are capable of working under pressure. Ideally, you have proven experience in MRI and are looking to further develop your MR imaging skills. You will be part of a team in the Imaging Department responsible for the provision of a safe, efficient, high-quality service working in accordance with the Imaging Department and Trust protocols. The post holder will be expected to maintain and develop high standards of patient care amongst peers, students, colleagues, and users of imaging services. The Senior Radiographer will support the Imaging Department Senior team in achieving departmental and Trust objectives and will supervise and advise newly qualified/junior radiographers, undergraduate students, and assistant practitioners. You will be required to work flexibly - weekday/weekend and out of hour duties, as we are a 7-day working department. Posts will include participation in the on-call rota. Applicants who have recent NHS experience are desirable. Main duties of the job
The post-holder will participate in the effective running of the MRI service under the direction of the senior staff, ensuring delivery of high-quality patient care.
Ensuring MRI service is maintained with training of staff to perform in accordance with Trust policy including comprehensive competency assessments.
In liaison with senior radiographers, the post holder will provide supervision of junior staff, students, and assistant practitioners.
Job responsibilities
We are a very large Radiology Department having seven CT scanners and a large ultrasound department for general and gynae as well as a dedicated Interventional Theatre Suite. We have seven MRI scanners across BHRUT and a rental MRI scanner due to the increasing number of referrals year on year.
BHR is one of the largest associate teaching hospitals providing acute care for over 1,000,000 people from across two main sites: Queens and King George Hospital. The Queens Hospital is situated close to the A12, within walking distance of Romford British Rail Station and local amenities. King George Hospital is situated in Barley Lane, Goodmayes with good transport links.

Education/Qualifications
* Hold BSc in Diagnostic Radiography, College of Radiographers Diploma or equivalent
* Current HCPC Registered
* Experience of working within an NHS organisation
* Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
* SoR accredited IV Certificate

* Previous experience working at this level
