Position Overview Ithaca Energy is accepting applications for the position of Senior P&A Engineer, located in our Aberdeen Office. Reporting to the Superintendent, the Senior P&A Engineer will be responsible for the safe and efficient planning/execution of well P&A activities for a platform abandonment campaign. Responsibilities Be an active and significant contributor in the design, planning and execution of P&A activities, ensuring full compliance with company policies, standards, procedures and relevant regulatory requirements. Responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of P&A engineers. Interfaces with subsurface, decommissioning and asset teams on well P&A activities. Delivery of concept design, peer reviews, basis of design, detailed design, risk assessment and operational programmes to meet project schedule and achieve well objectives. Lead operational review and pre-spud meetings. Responsible for OMAR Notifications and regulatory submissions, liaising with Well Examiner and regulatory bodies. Lead continuous performance improvement initiatives and provide knowledge and expertise in technology options and developments. Provide operational support and direction to offshore team to execute rig operations safely, efficiently and cost effectively. Address changes to plan in line with Management of Change process requirements. Ensure end of well reporting and close out activities are completed and that lessons learned, improvement opportunities and best practices are effectively transitioned back into planning phases. Assist the Wells Function by providing input to support Wells Management System updates and developments, Wells supply chain planning and other functional processes. Participate in Wells’ duty rota and provide support to the Incident Management Team in the event of a rig-related incident. Assist and deputise for the Superintendent. Qualifications & Experience Significant overall experience with Operator and/or Well Management company in the UKCS, working at DE level or above. Demonstrated experience of working at Senior Engineer or Team Lead level preferred. Experience of platform operations in the UKCS is essential. Significant slot recovery / well abandonment experience required. Experience with the UK regulatory and permitting requirements. Experience supervising engineers, coaching and supporting graduate development. Operational decision-making experience e.g. out of hours duty and/or Superintendent experience preferred.
