Senior Quantity Surveyor – Building North East and Yorkshire
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior QS to join the team at Galliford Try.
Ideally, you will be based in or around Newcastle and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.
What you will be doing:
* Analysis of tender allowances
* The measurement and valuation of works (on site and from drawings), for valuations, variations and final accounts.
* Agreement of valuation dates and preparing, submitting interim valuations in accordance with those dates.
* Administering and/or advising on Main Contract and Subcontract conditions
* Subcontract and Design Procurement
* Subcontract payments, variations and final accounts
* Submission of Cost Value Reconciliations
* Preparation of cost to complete
* Cash management and maximisation
* Cash Flow and Turnover forecast
* Provision of standard reports
Internal Valuations/CVRs and subcontract liability reports in accordance with schedule of accounting period end dates and deadlines.
About You:
* Professional Qualification (HNC/HND/Degree/Diploma) or equivalent
* Extensive experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors
* Ability to demonstrate a good knowledge of monthly reporting
* Excellent team player whilst also holding the ability to work independently
* Excellent time management skills, with ability to work to tight deadlines
* Ability to encourage and support other members of the commercial team
* Experience of working within the Construction industry for a main contractor, specifically on Design and Build; as well as sound knowledge of JCT and NEC Conditions of Contract
* Consideration to candidates of an infrastructure/housebuilding background will be considered
* Having sound Public sector experience is preferable
* Experience of two stage open book collaborative approach is desirable
* You will be degree qualified and a member of the RICS or IOB (or moving towards professional membership).
