Position: Electrical Design Engineer (Building Services)
Location: Hybrid working Barnsley- reporting office
Contract: Permanent Employment
Salary: Up to £52,000 per annum DOE

PRS has engaged with a key client and a UK-wide leading Building Services & facilities management specialised within innovation and revolutionization. Due to team expansion, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with a background in Building Services, Facilities &/or M&E to join this exciting and modern business.
Job Purpose:
To plan, co-ordinate, manage and oversee the design stages and technical development of new and existing projects from initial inception through to final handover. Projects will be of multiple disciplines including M&E, fabric and specialist elements.Responsibilities:
Ensuring accurate collation and compilation of design documentation.
Ensuring client design objectives are met.
Representing the client's & our business interests
Take a leading role on technical solutions and guidance on project deliverable's to Project Managers & Site Managers when required.
Development of accurate & comprehensive design drawing packages from initial design through to As Fitted drawings.
Develop best practice and cost-effective solutions to our clients.
On “live” projects undertake with the operational team Onsite Reviews to ensure quality standards and adherence to design are being met.
Using IT systems to keep track of progress.
Support the continued growth of our incumbent design team through collaboration and innovative solutions
Review 3rd party design and cost submissions for accuracy and adherence to client specification.
Responsible for the development and production of LV AC electrical design solutions through electronic software packages.
Produce detailed electrical design information in both written and drawing formats.
Have in depth knowledge and understanding of commercial & industrial electrical systems. Awareness of critical environments & Mission critical systems is beneficial but not essential.
Assist the commercial team where required to compile accurate and comprehensive cost submissions.
Knowledge of HV & DNO processes & procedures beneficial but not essential.
Organising and working with professionals/contractors in the development of new designs and or changes to existing projects.
Be the lead for pre-construction activities. Such activities including conducting site surveys and the detailed Compilation of schedule of requirements documentation (SOR’s) that have a direct link to the commercial team in the production of costs to our client.
Develop processes and the “setting of standards” for the BT account to ensure all documentation is comprehensive and uniform at national level.
Outsourcing design activities where required to specialists, consultants and sub-contractors.
Take the leading role in the compilation and development of tender submissions to our client. Person Specification-Qualifications and Experience:
Organisational skills
Experience in CDM Projects in construction and building services
Experience in complex and technically challenging environments
Previous management capacity in a multi skilled work environment.
Analytical skills
Electrical biased with formal qualifications to C&G or HNC/HND standards.
AutoCAD and drawing package software experience
BS7671 18th Edition Wiring regulations
C&G Design, Erection and Verification (2396)
