We want someone who is passionate about supporting people to maintain and achieve their independence, promote their choices, and fulfill their potential.
Main Duties
* Support people using our services in line with their individual care plan to promote as much independence as possible.
* Assist with all aspects of personal care (supporting continence needs, showering, bathing, etc.) in accordance with individual support needs.
* Participate in the ongoing monitoring of the health (mental and physical) and behavior of people using the service.
* Report and record all relevant information and report to the Shift Leader any changes in the person.
* Act as a keyworker for named individuals within the service.
* Support an active and enjoyable lifestyle for individuals by encouraging a range of leisure and social interests. Support on holidays, as identified in their person-centered plans.
* Provide person-centered support as identified within the care plan, ensuring respect, privacy, and dignity at all times.
* Help maintain and develop relationships between individuals and their families, friends, and significant others.
* Support the ladies in preparing drinks and meals, food shopping, and eating meals with any guidelines that may be in place.
Qualifications
* Care Certificate or willingness to complete within 12 weeks of starting the role.
* NVQ Level 2.
Experience (Essential)
* Experience of caring for someone, either work or family member.
* Experience of working with people with learning disabilities in a care home or day service.
