Join our dynamic team at Humdinger Snacking Factory in Bromborough as a multi-skilled Engineering Supervisor. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our production facility. As a Multi-Skilled Engineering Supervisor, you will work closely with the Factory Engineering Manager and lead the engineering team to maintain the high standards of safety, efficiency, and quality across all business units. You will ensure effective communication and seamless handovers between engineering and operations, fostering a collaborative environment. You will work the 24/7 continental shift as follows: 4 x 12.25 hour days (07:00 to 19:15) and 4 x 12.5 hour nights (19:00 to 07:15) on a 4 on 4 off pattern Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all engineering activities comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act, factory safety protocols, and company policies. Proactively address safety issues in collaboration with engineering and safety teams. Team Coordination: Oversee the shift engineers across both process and packing areas, ensuring timely and safe execution of engineering tasks to high standards. Problem Solving: Lead or participate in risk assessments and problem-solving sessions during breakdowns or significant engineering activities. CMMS Management: Utilize and enforce the use of the company’s CMMS system for tracking planned, reactive, and breakdown activities, ensuring all records are accurate and up-to-date. Contractor Control: Assist in managing contractors, including inductions, permit issuance, and supervision to ensure compliance with company procedures. Operational Efficiency: Provide continuous mechanical and electrical engineering support to ensure all equipment operates at optimum efficiency. Site Maintenance: Perform maintenance tasks across the site, including mechanical and electrical breakdowns, PPMs, machine setups, and facilities upkeep. Documentation: Complete relevant paperwork for PPMs, maintenance requests, and non-conformances, ensuring accurate and thorough record-keeping. Stock Management: Handle engineering stores duties, including ordering spares, stock management, and raising purchase orders. Facilities Support: Assist with site facilities tasks that require engineering support. MEWP Operations: Perform tasks that require the use of a Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP). Staff Development: Train key operational staff in site-based autonomous maintenance practices. Continuous Development: Pursue professional and personal development through internal and external training courses. Essential: Experience in a supervisory role or leading a team of multi-skilled engineers. Competency in Electrical/Mechanical skills through formal qualifications, training, and hands-on experience. Time-served in an engineering discipline with a formal electrical qualification. Knowledge of GMP, ideally within an FMCG environment, with familiarity with machinery used in food production/manufacturing. Experience dealing with contractors. Basic PC skills. Full valid driving license. Attention to detail and a willingness to learn and use specialized tools and equipment. Desirable: FLT (Forklift Truck) training. MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform) training. 18th edition electrical regulations certification. Testing and inspection experience. Understanding of PLCs with fault-finding abilities to input/output card levels.
