University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust
University Hospitals of Derby and Burton have an exciting Band 5 opportunity for innovative and enthusiastic Registered Nurses to join our new Neonatal Transitional Care Units at Royal Derby Hospital (RDH) and Queens Hospital Burton (QHB).
We have a 26 bedded Local Neonatal Unit (Level 2) at RDH, which provides care to newborn infants requiring intensive, high and special care. We are opening 10 Transitional Care Cots on the post-natal ward for infants who meet the BAPM criteria for Transitional Care. We have an 8 bedded Special Care Unit (Level 1) at QHB, which will be moving to a new purpose-built unit, that will increase capacity to incorporate 4 Transitional Care cots.
The aim of The Transitional Care service is to deliver neonatal care at the birthing person's bedside, thus preventing separation of birthing person and baby, ensuring care is delivered within an appropriate setting.
We are looking for experienced Band 5 Registered Nurses, from both adult and child backgrounds, who have a passion for Neonatal nursing. You must be able to work flexibly within a 7 day week, 24 hour service and be eager to develop your skills and expertise. You will be supported by our friendly, enthusiastic and dedicated team.
Main duties of the job

We promote Family Integrated Care and have a positive and forward-thinking attitude to the care of the family as a unit. We are part of the Baby Friendly Initiative promoting and supporting breast feeding for all our babies no matter how small.
