Job Title: SMR Technical Project Lead - Welding

Job Description: Holtec International and its subsidiary companies are designing an unfailingly safe and secure source of clean energy using nuclear fission called the SMR-300 small modular reactor. We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven technical project lead with supervisory and welding experience to join our team. This technical project lead will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the SMR welding construction techniques, assisting with the SMR module design and welding, and assisting the SMR civil-structural team with the advancement of robotic welding techniques and practices. The technical project lead requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Specific Areas of Responsibility:
* Work closely with other project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure all aspects of assigned projects are aligned and progressing smoothly.
* Provide engineering expertise and technical guidance throughout the project/procurement lifecycle.
* Maintain thorough documentation of project activities, including plans, designs, reports, and updates.
* Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
* Ensure all project activities meet or exceed industry standards, NRC regulations, and company quality guidelines.
* Regularly update stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and changes in scope.
* Address technical issues and project challenges, providing solutions to keep the project on track.
Minimum Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in welding or construction engineering.
* Onsite in Camden, NJ with a flexible schedule.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial or navy nuclear with a strong understanding of engineering principles.
* Familiarity with Welding Processes (ASME IX Qualified):
o Semi-automatic FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), Semi-automatic and Robotic GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), Manual GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding), Automatic Laser Welding and other robotic welding techniques.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information.
* Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
* Ability to troubleshoot issues and think critically to solve complex problems.
* Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Knowledge of and experience with weld symbols and reading fabrication drawings.
* Professional demeanor, innovative thinker with the ability to present ideas, concepts, and theories to all levels.
* Good communication and presentation skills (written and verbal).
* Ability to travel 10-20% of the time.
Optional Additional Qualifications:
* MS in engineering
* Familiarity with Holtec manufacturing processes and procedures, and quality assurance.
