An Exciting Role With Penna Homecare:
As a care co-ordinator, you will be expected to perform a variety of duties in the coordination of scheduling service for clients. The care coordinator is expected to assist and support other staff members in order to provide the highest quality service to clients.
Main Responsibilities:
This is a 30 hour week - Over 4 days - However this can be increased to 5 days for the right candidate.
• Coordinate care staff schedules on a daily basis and establish an effective recurring schedule.
• Deploy care staff with clients in an effective way that meets both client and business needs. Follow our clients' protocols in respect of matching clients and care staff and continuity of care.
• Coordinate and maintain monthly client schedules in Care Planner, using the recurring scheduling facility.
• Work with the office team to maintain accurate, up to date records on Care Planner and PASS and any handwritten records if needed.
• Ensure Care Planner is used to record and monitor mileage and travel distances to make it cost-effective.
• Ensure that accidents and incidents are recorded, reported, and acted upon.
• Identify and report to the Registered Manager areas of recruitment needed.
• Answer all incoming calls in a friendly, professional, and knowledgeable manner.
• Develop and maintain relationships with both clients and care staff through regular contact. Maintain confidentiality at all times including client, care staff, and officer data.
Assisting with on-call responsibilities and cover where applicable - Holding the on-call phone. This role will include occasional weekend cover.
Key Requirements:
• UK Driving License.
• A proven track record in coordinating and scheduling care within a domiciliary organisation. Proven ability to schedule effectively, meet client needs, and maintain positive relationships with both clients and care staff at all times.
• Excellent rapport-building skills, responsive approach, and a commitment to open communication. Proven ability to remain positive and effective under pressure.
• Ability to work as part of a team and alone, including use of own initiative.
• Demonstrable passion for providing high-quality care and the ability to provide hands-on care when required.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Computer literate and ability to quickly learn how to use Care Planner and PASS.
• An understanding of the requirements of CQC.
• Reliable and able to maintain a professional approach at all times.
