A Vacancy at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust.
Do you have experience supporting people in the community? Are you looking for something new, interesting and stimulating which offers the opportunity to use and enhance your experience? If so, the Dorset Integrated Non-Custodial Service is recruiting a full time Support Time Recovery Worker to support people who have been given a Mental Health Treatment Requirement alongside a community sentence by the Magistrates’ or Crown Court.
Dorset Integrated Non-Custodial Service supports people who are suspected of committing a crime, going to Court or being released from prison. We work with people who have a mental health illness, learning disability, substance misuse problems or other vulnerabilities. Our aim is to reduce re-offending by giving people the right support and access to services.
As part of the team delivering Mental Health Treatment Requirements and working closely with the Team Lead and Psychologist, you will plan, deliver and evaluate pyscho-social interventions with clients whilst supporting them with their mental health and other vulnerabilities. You will be working with adults with a complex range mental health needs and other vulnerabilities.
You will communicate, provide and receive complex, sensitive and at times contentious information which requires persuasive, motivational, negotiating and empathetic skills, sometimes in situations where there are barriers to understanding.
You will liaise with Court and the Probation Service on the progress of the requirement, if necessary report any breaches and work together to help the client to re-engage and successfully complete their requirement within the specified time frame.
The Service operates across the whole of Dorset and the successful applicant is required to hold a full and valid UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work purposes. As far as is practical your base and the geographical area you cover will be tailored to your location, although there will be times you will be required provide cover across the whole of the county.
You will be required to undertake the Care Certificate as part of your induction. The Care Certificate aims to ensure all staff are caring, compassionate and provide quality care in their work and it is therefore expected that you successfully complete all aspects of the Care Certificate to work in this position.
