Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Technical Compliance Assistant to support our Technical Compliance Manager in ensuring that all supplier and raw material approval processes comply with regulatory and customer requirements. This role will primarily be responsible for maintaining and updating the supplier and raw material approval database, as well as assisting with documentation, audits, and reporting. The ideal candidate will be proactive, efficient, and able to thrive in a dynamic, compliance-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supplier and Raw Material Approval Database Management:
1. Maintain and update the supplier and raw material approval database.
2. Ensure that all required documentation for supplier approvals, raw material specifications, and certifications are accurately stored and accessible.
3. Track and manage the approval status of suppliers and raw materials to ensure compliance with internal procedures and external regulations.
4. Assist with the renewal and reassessment of suppliers and raw material certifications.
2. Regulatory Compliance Support:
1. Support the Technical Compliance Manager in ensuring all suppliers and raw materials meet regulatory standards and customer-specific requirements.
2. Assist in gathering and reviewing regulatory documentation (e.g., Certificates of Analysis, Safety Data Sheets, product specifications).
3. Help monitor changes in relevant regulations and customer requirements, ensuring they are integrated into the approval database and compliance processes.
3. Customer Requirements and Audits:
1. Support in maintaining compliance with customer-specific requirements for raw materials and suppliers.
2. Assist in preparation for customer audits, providing relevant documentation and records for review.
3. Coordinate the collection of necessary documents and reports for audit purposes.
4. Documentation and Reporting:
1. Assist in the preparation of regular compliance reports and audits for internal and external stakeholders.
2. Ensure accurate record-keeping of all compliance-related documentation and processes.
3. Contribute to the development and revision of technical compliance policies and procedures.
5. General Administrative Support:
1. Provide administrative support to the Technical Compliance Manager as required.
2. Organize and prioritize tasks efficiently, ensuring all deadlines are met.

7. Cross-functional Support:
1. Collaborate with the quality assurance, NPD, procurement, and other departments to ensure a seamless approval process for new suppliers and raw materials.
Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Personal Attributes:
1. Qualifications:
1. Food safety Level 3 or above
2. HACCP Level 3 or above
3. Experience of audits in food industry including BRC, M&S Food Safety, M&S Integrity
4. Internal Auditor qualifications
5. A degree or equivalent in Microbiology, Food Science, Food Technology or a related subject (desirable)
2. Experience:
Previous experience in technical compliance, supply chain, or quality assurance is required.
3. Skills:
1. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and database management.
4. Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines.
5. Knowledge of industry-specific regulatory requirements (e.g., FSA, EU regulations, BRC and Retailer Standards e.g. M&S) is a plus.

Food Safety, Legality and Quality:
All employees must follow and abide by the company’s policies and operating practices regarding food safety, quality, GMP and legality. It is the employee’s responsibility to alert their supervisor of any issues that could affect the product in relation to food safety, quality & legality. (Food handlers)
