The Royal Ballet and Opera (RBO) continues to lead the way in opera, ballet, music and dance both live on stage and through multiple digital platforms, from live streaming to worldwide cinema screenings. The Royal Ballet and Opera wants to share these life-changing artforms with as many people as we can, working to enrich the cultural life of the nation by growing the public enjoyment and appreciation of exceptional ballet and opera.
The role:
The Sound, Video & Broadcast department at the RBO looks after Sound and Video projection requirements for our Opera and Ballet productions as well as facilitating the live broadcasts of our performances and events.
We are now seeking to recruit a Sound, Video and Broadcast Technician (Sound Bias). Working with the Sound Assistant Manager and Senior Technician, you will ensure the operational and production requirements of rehearsals and performances are carried out to the highest possible standard of safety, efficiency, and quality.
What you'll bring:
This role will suit a candidate with strong communication skills, a collaborative approach to working, and the ability to work unsupervised and show initiative. You will also be able to demonstrate:
* A track record in live sound.
* Experience in a major establishment is an advantage, ideally a venue presenting opera and ballet productions.
* A track record in live production (orchestras is an advantage).
* Technical skills and knowledge base with a thorough understanding of current equipment and systems pertinent to the role.
* The technical expertise to maintain up-to-date knowledge developments in audio engineering equipment as maintained by the RBO.
