The concept of a 'Virtual School' is a way of bringing together the educational information about children and young people who are cared for by the local authority as if they were a single school - no matter where in the country they live. Surrey Virtual School (SVS) has a number of different cohorts of children who we support in different ways. This role is primarily with Children Looked After. We are a strong and stable team of professionals dedicated to improving the educational experiences and outcomes of children and young people in our cohorts. We work collaboratively with schools, carers, social workers and other professionals to create a culture of high expectation and aspiration, addressing barriers to educational progress and achievement. The PEP Administrator is a county-wide role, sitting within the Virtual School's Data / Admin Team. The remit is varied but you will play a crucial role in ensuring that every Child Looked After has an effective, high-quality and up-to-date Personal Education Plan (PEP). You will be responsible for coordinating and ensuring compliance, working closely with schools and social care teams to improve completion rates and enhance the overall quality of each child's PEP. After initial training you will be jointly responsible for a busy team inbox, dealing with multiple queries and liaising closely with social care teams, schools, and other members of the VS team. You will also run and compare reports from internal (Tableau) and external (Welfare Call) systems to review in Excel, and follow up with Social Workers and Designated Teachers.
