Site Operations Controller - Your future role?
As the Site Operations Controller in Ashford, you will direct site controlling activities for all departments present on site. You will support the business controlling network by supplying local information and provide business support to the local operations Manager to ensure compliance.
Be a member of the Site Operations Management Team ensuring:
1. Full finance integration into operations
2. Support and achieve process improvement programmes at a site level
3. Active involvement and challenge of decisions
Your main responsibilities:
Reporting
1. Provide analyses and interpretations of financial information to various functional management and partners, including Group Controlling, Division, Controlling, Operations Controlling, Functional Controlling (e.g. IT, Purchasing, HR).
Site Support
1. Provide recommendations on inventory management.
2. Coordinate the annual budget process for the site.
3. Participate in site operations meetings to stay informed of site activities and provide finance support/action where required.
Cost Analysis
1. Manage annual and periodic requirements of costing activities and analysis of COGS.
2. Provide detailed product costing analysis and support management in the evaluation of product costs.
3. Analyse process order and product level variances on a monthly basis and work with the operations team to resolve and correct costing issues.
4. Review COGS summary with management.
5. Coordinate changes in master templates with local operations.
6. Contribute to recipe templates from a costing perspective.
7. Analyse and explain local product margins.
8. Respond promptly to pricing/commercial controlling requests.
Financial Performance Analysis
1. Analyze and coordinate activities associated with operations performance on site.
2. Contribute as an active member in site projects that move process/cost improvements (i.e., Supply Chain, CI, Utilities, Maintenance).
3. Support site management in the development and analysis of business plans, budgets, forecasts, and cost savings opportunities.
4. Perform ad-hoc and proactive analysis of the monthly Measurements and provide site and operational management with interpretive and predictive information for decision-making.
5. Participate in forecasting and mid-to long-term planning for the factory.
6. Support management in the strategic decision-making for the site.
7. Perform regular cost centre and investment reviews and follow-ups. Drive resolutions of variance issues.
Financial Analysis & Reporting
1. Support requirements associated with the month-end financial close.
2. Review the analysis of the site P&L and identify variances vs. budget, last year, and outlook. Drive and recommend corrective actions.
Investment Process
1. Work with site engineers, local management, and regional controllers from the stage of evaluating capital proposals up until value realization.
Other
1. Oversee and evaluate internal controls for the site and create procedures to ensure clarity around processes and ensure internal controls.
2. Provide financial support for the site on special projects.
3. Ensure compliance to Corporate guidelines as reported in the Corporate Finance Manual.
4. Support annual external financial audit - hard close and year-end close.
You have:
1. Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics or professional accountancy qualification.
2. 5-10 years’ experience in cost accounting/operations controlling in a manufacturing environment.
3. SAP FI/CO.
4. Working knowledge of costing processes and procedures.
5. Project Management.
