Job Title: QA/QC Electrical Engineer
Location: Ellesmere Port
Duration: 6 month initial contract
Rate: £400.00 - £450.00 per day
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented QA/QC Electrical Engineer to join our team on a new build power generation project. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical systems, installations, and components comply with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. This role will involve close coordination with engineering, construction, and quality assurance teams to maintain high standards of workmanship and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement the project's Electrical QA/QC plan, procedures, and inspection processes to ensure compliance with project requirements.
* Review and approve electrical engineering designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure adherence to codes and standards.
* Conduct inspections and audits of electrical installations, ensuring work meets quality and safety standards.
* Perform incoming material inspections, ensuring that electrical equipment and materials meet specified requirements.
* Manage and document non-conformance reports (NCRs) and oversee corrective actions to resolve quality issues.
* Conduct witness testing, factory acceptance tests (FAT), and site acceptance tests (SAT) for electrical equipment and systems.
* Collaborate with contractors and subcontractors to resolve technical and quality issues effectively.
* Prepare comprehensive inspection and test plans (ITPs) for electrical systems and ensure they are followed during project execution.
* Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and quality assurance documentation for auditing and handover purposes.
* Ensure adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards in all QA/QC activities.
* Provide technical support and guidance to the site team on electrical quality control matters.
* Participate in project meetings, providing updates on quality control progress and highlighting potential risks.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
* Proven experience in QA/QC roles within power generation, energy, or large-scale construction projects.
* In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, codes, standards (e.g., IEC, BS, IEE), and best practices.
* Familiarity with power generation equipment such as generators, transformers, switchgear, and control systems.
* Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and inspection processes.
* Experience with electrical testing equipment and methodologies.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
* Strong documentation and reporting skills.
* Certification in QA/QC (e.g., CSWIP, API, or equivalent) is advantageous
