What you’ll be doing as a Support Driver
1. Delivering plant, signing & guarding (S&G) and materials from our strategically placed distribution depots to support the field teams that are out on site.
2. Delivering key communications to our customers advising them of planned and imminent repair works on Thames Water’s water network in their vicinity.
3. Monitoring field works during the transition between water network fix and reinstatement back-fill completion to ensure that our guarding on our water infrastructure is compliant to a safe and high standard.
4. Ensuring delivery schedules are maintained and that the Logistics coordinator is advised of any deviation that could impact service on any outbound or site collection/clearance tasks.
5. Conduct a preloading assessment before despatch and loading and use the correct tie-down for the load.
What you should bring to the role
1. Be able to legally drive in the UK and have your transport or be able to use the company vehicle provided.
2. Have previous commercial van driving experience.
3. Have no more than 6 points on your driving licence.
4. Be able to demonstrate you have a reliable, punctual and flexible attitude and work ethic.
5. Be comfortable with manual handling up to 25Kgs.
What’s in it for you?
1. £28,000 to £30,000 per annum depending on skills and experience.
2. 45 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 07.00 am-5.00 pm.
3. On-call rota (1 in 4/6 weeks): Monday-Sunday: On-call enhancement, call-out charge and overtime paid.
4. Company Tipper vehicle provided – Can be taken home or left in the depot.
5. Based in Datchet in Berkshire.
6. Contributory pension – Defined Contribution - Maximum of 12% -2x employee contribution.
7. Personal Medical Assessments – Open to all once a year.
