RT29 - Plumbing Lecturer\n\nSalary: £32,455 - £45,260 Per Annum (£5000 Extra per annum for highly experienced candidates)\n\nLocation: Uxbridge\n\nOverview\n\nFirst Military Recruitment are seeking a full time Plumbing Lecturer to join one of our renowned clients. You will be required to teach on a range of programmes, including NVQ Level 2, Diploma in Plumbing Levels 2 and 3 (City and Guilds/EAL Technical Certificate) and Level 1 units in Plumbing and Building Services Engineering.\n\nYou will need to be qualified to Level 3 in Plumbing and have experience of working in the Plumbing industry. You will need to have teaching or training experience within the subject area, with good communication skills, and the ability to motivate and engage 16-18 year old learners.
You will be supported to develop your career in teaching, including receiving full funding towards a Level 5 teacher training qualification if you do not already possess this.\n\nDuties & Responsibilities\n\nFull time - 36 Hours per week.\nTeach on a range of programmes in relevant subject area.\nPrepare schemes of work, lesson plans and resource materials for teaching programmes.\nCarry out formative and summative (tests, coursework and exams), assessment of students and use target setting to maximise success.\nAssess students’ progress regularly including the timely marking of work and giving feedback, both written and oral.\nWork towards the integration of students’ basic skills’ development in the delivery of teaching and learning.\nPromote Equal Opportunities and implement the College’s Equal Opportunities Policy.\nProvide a secure, safe and friendly learning environment including implementation of College’s Health & Safety Policy and Safeguarding Policy.\nUnderstand and comply with Safeguarding legislation and ensure that best practice is embedded in all working practices as required.\nCommitment to Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, ensuring that this commitment is demonstrated in all aspects of the role as appropriate.\nSkills & Qualifications\n\nLevel 3 qualification in Plumbing or Heating (NVQ or C&G Advanced Craft).\nLevel 5 teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector (e.g. DET) or willingness and ability to work towards a Level 5 teaching qualification, supported by the College.\nA1 assessor award or willingness to undertake one.\nPlumbing industry experience.\nExperience of teaching / training in the subject area.\nUp-to-date knowledge of the relevant subject area.\nAbility to inspire vocational learners aged 16-19\nGood written communication skills.\nGood classroom practice.\nUnderstanding of the importance of Equality and Diversity and Safeguarding in an education environment.\nCommitment to learners and learner achievement.\nBenefits\n\nInternal promotion.\nSalary progression.\nTeacher pension.\nFree parking.\nSubsidised membership across on site fitness centres.\nDental insurance.\nEnhanced maternity/paternity leave.\nPublic transport season ticket loan scheme.\nSalary: £32,455 - £45,260 Per Annum (£5000 Extra per annum for highly experienced candidates)\n\nLocation: Uxbridge
