Purpose of the Job
We are seeking an interim Senior Finance Analyst to join our Group FP&A team for 6 months to provide financial analysis support to the Technology and Data function. This role is primarily focused on spend analysis, month-end management reporting, and budgeting support. Working closely with the Senior Finance Business Partner for the function, the Senior Finance Analyst will ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial results, identify spending trends, and provide actionable insights to help manage and optimise Technology & Data overheads expenditure.
Key Responsibilities
1. Spend Analysis and Insights
o Conduct detailed analysis of Technology & Data overheads, including software licenses, hardware, data subscriptions, consulting, and other operating expenses.
o Track actual spend against budget and forecast, analysing variances to highlight trends, risks, and opportunities.
o Partner with stakeholders in the Technology & Data teams to provide financial insights on spend patterns and identify potential cost savings or efficiency opportunities.
o Develop dashboards and other reporting tools to enhance visibility and understanding of Technology & Data spend drivers.
o Prepare ad-hoc analyses as requested by management, providing financial support for decision-making on potential investments or cost reductions.
2. Month-End Reporting
o Compile monthly financial reports, presenting key insights, variances, and analysis for review with the Senior Finance Business Partner.
o Support the preparation of month-end review packs, providing commentary on performance against budget and identifying areas requiring management attention.
3. Budgeting and Forecasting
o Support the annual budgeting processes for Technology & Data overheads, working with budget holders to gather, review, and consolidate financial plans.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
* Qualified Accountant with ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
* Experience in a finance analyst role, preferably with exposure to overheads or Technology & Data spend analysis.
* Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills; experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail in reporting, analysis, and reconciliations.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
* Proactive and solution-oriented, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively to resolve issues.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, adjusting to evolving business needs.
