About the company
Our client is an established and growing manufacturer and distributor of innovative & technical products for engineering and manufacturing applications. They are looking to hire a HSE Officer to join their team in Leicester.
As HSE Officer, you will drive Health & Safety initiatives to improve operational efficiencies in a safe and healthy environment for our team.
You will work closely with the Management team to develop and manage safety on the site, taking the lead on various projects, reviewing current processes, and working towards making it a safer place to work. You will liaise with all levels in the business and present in a concise way to the senior leadership team.

HSE Officer – Requirements
* IOSH/NEBOSH or working towards
* Experience in SME manufacturing background
* Experience of ISO9001
* Awareness of 14001/45001
* Familiar with primary UK workplace legislation
HSE Officer - Responsibilities
* Identify hazards, perform risk assessments, and implement control measures to ensure the risk of injury is reduced or eliminated.
* Complete departmental induction and training of new employees by providing information on hazards and risks in the workplace, job instruction, training, and supervision as necessary to ensure safe work for employees.
* Proactively prepare health, safety, and environment interventions and develop relevant policy.
* Provide personal protective equipment, instruction in its correct use, maintenance, and limitations. Ensure a register of deployed equipment is continuously maintained and reviewed.
* Ensure full and accurate health and safety training records are maintained.
* Oversee equipment installation to ensure safe procedures are followed.
* Organise and review regular chemical monitoring ensuring that any operator/personnel exposure to selected materials is within the given HSE guidelines.
* Advise the business on a range of specialist topics, e.g., fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery, etc.
* Produce newsletters and bulletins to all staff.
* Undertake continual professional development activities including attending seminars and reading professional journals.
