THE ROLE
The VFX Producers will be based client side, embedded within BBC Studios NHU production teams, helping manage the project’s visual effects budget and schedule by working closely with the VFX vendors assigned to execute and deliver the work.
1. Inputting into the VFX content across the project ensuring continuity of the VFX delivery and quality whilst ensuring value for money is reached across asset shot content.
2. Main communicator between production, VFX vendors and post houses.
3. Working with Directors during storyboarding to advise on framings and shot ideas that will combine visual and storytelling excellence with maximum efficiency for the VFX process.
4. Working collaboratively with the editorial teams, to maximise the budget and the schedules following best practices and agreed workflows.
5. Working collaboratively with the VFX vendors, to maximise the budget and the schedules.
6. Breaking down and budgeting episodes and sequences with vendor input – subject to project specific requirements.
7. Preparing bid packages for the vendors that will include all scripts and reference materials.
8. Helping to plan turnover and delivery schedules.
9. Tracking the status and cost of shots through to delivery and report on the budget & schedule.
10. Running a shot & asset database.
11. Managing feedback and taking charge of Quality Control
12. Working closely with Exec(s), Series Producers and Production Management to ensure the desired level of quality is delivered to budget and on schedule, holding vendor(s) accountable where necessary.
13. Participating in Client meetings as required.
WHAT DOES IT TAKE?
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA.
14. Excellent communication skills.
15. Organised, able to multitask and manage time efficiently.
16. Ability to share information concisely and effectively.
17. Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
18. Experience of delivering complex VFX on VFX heavy shows.
19. Experience of tracking shot progress and reporting on costs and schedules.
20. Experience translating creative ambition into VFX deliverables.
21. Familiarity with key software beneficial, especially Shot Grid.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA.
22. VFX experience in episodic television with large budgets that are aimed at mainstream global distribution would be advantageous.
23. VFX Producers to have experience both in production/client side as well as time spent as VFX producer within animation studio/vendor side.

PACKAGE DESCRIPTION

Band: D
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
Location: Office Base is Bristol (This is a hybrid role, and the successful candidate will balance office working with home working).
Start date: Jan 25 onwards
Interviews are expected to be held w/b 9th December 2024.
