Account Director (Healthcare)
Circa £70,000 + commission and benefits
Permanent (35 hours per week)
London (flexible and hybrid working)*
The role
As an Account Director, you will increase the reach and influence of the CIPD in building capability and creating learning cultures across the UK Health service.
You will play a key role in driving sales growth, and developing new business across key product groups, creating a pipeline of business and offering insights into CIPD to enhance the Employer Solutions proposition.
*This role will require travel to client sites across the UK. The office is located in Wimbledon, London.
What you’ll be doing
1. Leading and executing the professionalisation strategy across Healthcare to drive commercial growth, develop long-term sustainable relationships (engagement) and framework agreements (sustained, volume sales).
2. Driving the delivery of impactful HR solutions that align with client needs, ensuring measurable and positive outcomes for their workforce and business goals.
3. Participating in the relevant organisation’s planning process and defining client deliverables.
4. Maintaining effective targeting and pipeline management processes, ensuring ‘next steps selling’ to increase conversions, transaction values and creation of sustainable accounts.
5. Overseeing contractual agreements, ensuring compliance and client satisfaction, while identifying opportunities for upselling or cross-selling CIPD services.
6. Staying informed about global HR and Healthcare trends to contribute insights that enhance the value proposition of CIPD Employer Solutions.
7. Acting as a client advocate within CIPD, providing feedback and insights to shape the development of future products and services.
8. Establishing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness and impact of CIPD solutions, ensuring continuous improvement and client success.
What you’ll need to be successful
1. Experience of business and customer relationship/account development at senior levels – able to forge strong relationships with stakeholders and customers.
2. Track record of building key accounts within a professional services/B2B environment.
3. Proficiency in all aspects of the sales cycle, including qualifying accounts.
4. Significant experience of concluding consultative B2B sales within the HR/L&D consultancy business.
5. Experience working or understanding of the healthcare sector.
6. Understanding the role the People Function can play in an organisation’s success.
7. Experience in producing quality customer proposals and commercial deals, covering multiple services over longer term contract periods.
8. High level expertise in responding to large scale tenders and an understanding of healthcare procurement processes would be desirable.
9. Strong external/market awareness, networks and understanding of the broader healthcare industry trends and challenges.
